Candidate: Soheyla Kamal

from the Southern California Chapter

Short bio:

I have received:

B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, 1980.

M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana State University, 1987.

Ph. D. in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University, 1993.

My expertise is mostly related to consulting and new product development.

I have been actively involved in the board of directors of SUTA Southern California since 2009.

At this moment, I am president of SUTA Southern California.

I was part of SUTA since its birth in 2000. I have been to four SUTA international reunions in 2000, 2006, 2008 and 2014.

My goal is to maintain and enhance professional, academic and social relations among Sharif University graduates worldwide. I am going to strengthen bonding between the university graduates by taking advantage of all possible channels, including social media applications and bi-annual international reunions. I also will work more closely with the local chapters by increasing communication with them. For example, I believe having conference calls with local chapter board members is more effective in guiding and encouraging them to build an active alumni community. I believe in informing and encouraging every Sharif graduates who lives outside Iran to support SUTA, their alumni association, in any shape or form possible.

SUTA needs financial support to fulfill its mission and vision statements. I have suggestions and ideas about fundraising and attracting people who are willing to help and support SUTA.
