Here is a report on the chapter assignments of members and people on our Contact List database, as of today.

Chapter  Contact list only Active member
     Germany  17
    Iran 416 57
     Michigan
     Montreal  13
     New England  32 13
     Northern California  20
     Ottawa  28 18
     Southern California  55 17
     Sweden  24
     Sydney  6
     Toronto  315 41

     Vancouver  24
X: None of the active chapters  46 17
     Not assigned  454
     Total  1446 207

Active chapters are marked by a green color. To be an active chapter, there should be at least 7 active members, and the chapter should at least hold 2 events/meetings per year.

Please note that SUTA counts to have much more people on its contact list, but even more importantly, on its active member list!

Chapters that have the potential to become active are strongly encouraged to work on establishing themselves as active chapters. As an active chapter, they will be entitled to all kinds of support from SUTA for their activities and projects.

    Thanks for the prepared statistic.

If I understood correctly the indicated number is based on the information each member submitted in your website by his own or gathered through SUTA reunion separate from the information collected in Iran Alumni Association office.

Considering above it would be appreciated to advise why there is no share information between these two Association.

    You`re very welcome!

To answer your question, I should say that associations are not allowed to share the information of their members with other groups, unless they have some kind of agreement of the users whose information is going to be shared.

So we can`t just ask the association in Iran to post us all alumni information (and if we were doing this, they should not have acted upon our request).

What both associations can do without infringing any law or code of conduct, is to inform their own members of the other association`s activities, and to encourage their members to consider registering at the other association as well.

Thank you Dr. Zahir and the Board members of SUTA for providing these statistics.
Is there any way to know how many graduates Sharif University has had up to now, and how many of them are outside of Iran?

    You are very welcome!
I don't have the statistics on the number of SUT graduates or the percentage who lives inside or outside Iran. Most probably the Alumni Association in Iran has some good estimates.
My wild guess is around 35,000 graduates and maybe 25% live outside Iran. I have no data to back that up, of course!

With reference to Sharif Alumni Association Statistic, almost each year 2000 students are graduated from SUT (1500 men & 500 women).
Up to end of 2011, the total number of graduates are 33,550 (26839 men & 6711 women)

Thanks Elaheh for the more accurate statistics.
Also I should add here that there was a miscommunication between the SUTA office in Tehran and the BoD and the names of several SUTA active members have not been transmitted to the Board. Now, that list is completed and the actual number of SUTA active members from Iran is around 100 (up from 57). We will update the complete list shortly.

    Dear Dr.Zahir,

    Many thanks for all your attempts;

Is it possible to let me know how many people who will attend in this reunion have studied material engineering.
