FAQ on visa application

Is it possible to pay the registration fee after receiving a visa?

If you require an invitation letter from SUTA in order to apply for a visa, you need to first register and pay the reunion registration fee. Upon confirmation of our registration, we will then send you an invitation letter.

If you do not require an invitation letter from SUTA in order to apply for a visa, you may register and pay the reunion registration fee whether before or after receiving your visa.

How does SUTA assist in obtaining a visa?

SUTA provides an invitation letter to those reunion registrants who submit their request for an invitation letter by the announced deadline. The invitation letter indicates that the recipient and his/her companies, if applicable, have registered and paid all due expenses to attend the 2008 SUTA Reunion in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

A list of reunion registrants who require a visa is also sent to the Canadian Consulate in Tehran.

Furthermore, SUTA has registered the SUTA 2008 Reunion with the special events of Canada Immigration and Citizenship (CIC) as well as the Canada Border Agency Services. A copy of the recognition letter by this agency is provided to all reunion registrants. Based on the CBAS recommendation, it is beneficial that you furnish a copy of this letter to the Canadian consulate where you are applying for a visa.

When do you recommend that I apply for a visa?

As soon as possible. The Canadian consulate in Tehran recommended that the applicants apply at least six weeks prior to their intended date of departure.

What are the documents necessary for applying for a visa?

We recommend you take along the documents provided by SUTA to you, namely the invitation letter and the CBAS recognition letter. For other necessary documents, please consult the local consulate to which you apply for a visa.
