During the 2000 Global Reunion, Sharif alumni and former faculty members agreed to establish an international alumni association. A committee was formed to prepare the Mission, Vision and the first draft of the Association's Bylaws.
At the 2002 Global Reunion, members officially approved the Bylaws and elected the first Board of Directors, formally establishing SUTA as the worldwide association of Sharif alumni.
SUTA continued expanding through new local chapters across North America, Europe and Asia while organizing international reunions, networking events and educational activities.
The Global Reunion was successfully held online, allowing members from around the world to participate virtually and strengthening international engagement.
The updated SUTA Bylaws were approved by members and certified by the Board of Directors, providing a modern governance framework for the future growth of the Association.
Today, SUTA continues connecting alumni worldwide through local chapters, mentorship, professional networking, educational programs, conferences and volunteer initiatives that strengthen the Sharif community.
SUTA is governed by an elected Board of Directors. Elections are held every two years, ensuring continuity, transparency and democratic governance within the Association.
