SUTA Call for nomination: Awards and Grants 2026
The Awards and Grants Committee is pleased to announce the 2026 kickoff of the SUTA Awards and Grants Program.
The 2026 Awards and Grants Program is managed by a dedicated committee operating under the supervision of the SUTA Board. The committee members are: Mansour Abdoli, Davoud Navaian, Niloufar Salehi, Ahmad Tafaghodi, and Bahram Zahir.
This biennial program will be held for the nineth time in conjunction with the 2026 SUTA Reunion. The awards will be presented in four categories, with a separate category for student grants, as detailed below.Award Categories (Nominations Open)
1. Dr. Mojtahedi’s Innovation Award
Purpose: To recognize outstanding projects and research across all disciplines represented by Sharif University of Technology (SUT) departments. To be eligible for consideration, the principal researcher or at least two members of the research team must be affiliated with SUT. Affiliation is defined as being a current or former student, former student, current or former faculty member, or graduate of Sharif University of Technology.
History: This award was established in 2010.

2. Dr. Amin’s Lifetime Achievement Award
Purpose: To recognize and honor scholars with past or present strong affiliation with Sharif University of Technology for outstanding service to the university, the society, and the fields of science and technology.
Past Recipients (2010–2024): Dr. Siavash Shahshahani, Dr. Saeed Sohrabpour, Dr. Reza Mansouri, Dr. Mohammad Ghodsi, Dr. Firooz Partovi, Dr. Mohammad Durali, Dr. Bahman Mehri and Dr. Hossain Poorzahedy, and Dr. Behrooz Parhami.

3. Maryam’s Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award
Purpose: To recognize and honor SUT graduates with outstanding achievements in industry, academia or society. This award is named after the late Dr. Maryam Mirzakhani.
Past Recipients (2012–2024): Dr. Behrokh Khoshnevis, Dr. Mahmood Tabiani, Mr. Hesam Armandehi, Dr. Mona Jarrahi, Dr. Adel Ferdosipour, Dr. Azita Emami, and Dr. Amirali Talasaz.

4. Dr. Hojabri’s Distinguished Service Award
Purpose: To recognize individuals (alumnus, faculty, staff, or associates) with outstanding service to SUT students and faculty, to the society, as well as to SUTA itself.
Past Recipients (2012–2024): Dr. Alinaghi Mashayekhi, Mr. Alireza Hamzelou, Mr. Mehdi Hakimpour, Ms. Afsaneh Tehrani, Mr. Mansour Ajoudani, Mr. Ehsan Arzpeyma, Mr. Hassan Noorbakhsh, Ms. Mehrnoush Naderi, Ms. Hedwig Hojabri, Ms. Shahin Safari, and Dr. Davar Boghaei.

Grant Category (Application Open)
5. Student Grants (in memory of the Victims of Flight PS752)
Purpose: This grant supports recent Sharif University of Technology (SUT) graduates in pursuing their postgraduate studies (Master's or PhD) in universities around the world, with the exception of countries subject to U.S. sanctions. The program provides financial support for travel expenses and scientific research.
History: This grant has been established in 2020.

Action and Deadline
We are now inviting the membership to nominate appropriate candidates for all of the award categories, and graduate students to apply for the grant.
The deadline for all nominations and grant applications is February 28, 2026. Submissions must be made electronically via the provided Google Forms. The specific conditions and required documents for each category are detailed within its respective form.
