Terms of Use

Last Updated: July 26, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to the official website of the Sharif University of Technology Association ("Association," "SUTA," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of this website, including all content, features, and services offered on or through it (collectively, the "Site").

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site.

2. About the Association and This Site

This Site serves as the digital home for the Sharif University of Technology Association. Through the Site, we share information about, and in some cases allow you to register for, or engage with, a range of Association activities, including:

  • General and Public Events. Lectures, networking gatherings, career events, and other alumni or community programming, some of which may be open to the general public.
  • Podcasts. Audio content produced or hosted by the Association, including interviews, alumni features, and university-related discussions.
  • Reunions Held at Venue Sites. In-person reunion events hosted at external venues or third-party locations.
  • Fundraising Campaigns. Donation drives, giving initiatives, and campaigns supporting the Association or alumni-related causes.

These Terms apply to your use of the Site itself and to your interactions with the above activities to the extent they are facilitated through the Site (for example, registering for an event, listening to or downloading a podcast episode, or making a donation online).

Additional terms, waivers, or event-specific policies may apply to individual events, reunions, or campaigns, and where they conflict with these Terms, the event-specific terms will govern for that activity.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

Some features of the Site, such as event registration, membership subscriptions, or donation processing, may require you to create an account or provide personal information.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Events and Reunions

The Association may organize or promote general and public events, as well as reunions held at university campuses or third-party venues. By registering for or attending any such event or reunion, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Event details (dates, times, locations, speakers, and formats) are subject to change or cancellation at the Association's discretion.
  • Registration through the Site does not guarantee admission if capacity limits, eligibility requirements, or venue restrictions apply.
  • Attendance at in-person events and reunions is at your own risk, and you agree to comply with the rules and policies of the host venue. Furthermore, you agree to hold the Association harmless from any losses, whether physical, financial, or otherwise, arising from an incident during an in-person event or reunion.
  • The Association is not responsible for the acts, omissions, goods, or services of third-party venues, vendors, or partners involved in hosting an event or reunion.
  • Photography, video, or audio recording may occur at events and reunions and may be used by the Association for promotional or archival purposes, unless otherwise stated at the event.

5. Podcasts and Media Content

The Association may produce or distribute podcasts and other media content through the Site or via third-party platforms linked from the Site.

Such content is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. Views expressed by hosts, guests, or interviewees are their own and do not necessarily reflect the views of the Association.

You may not reproduce, redistribute, or use podcast content for commercial purposes without prior written permission from the Association.

6. Fundraising and Donations

The Site may be used to promote and facilitate fundraising campaigns on behalf of the Association. By making a donation through the Site, you agree that:

  • All donation information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to use the payment method submitted.
  • Donations are generally non-refundable except as required by law or as otherwise stated in a specific campaign's terms.
  • The Association may use donor information to process the transaction, issue tax receipts, and communicate with you about the campaign or related Association activities, subject to our Privacy Policy.
  • Fundraising goals, timelines, and descriptions of how funds will be used are estimates and may be adjusted based on actual needs and circumstances.

7. Acceptable Use

When using the Site, you agree not to:

  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site, its servers, or networks.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any accounts, systems, or data.
  • Submit false information when registering for events, joining as a member of the Association, or making donations.
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access or collect data from the Site without permission.
  • Post or transmit content that is defamatory, abusive, infringing, or otherwise objectionable.

8. Intellectual Property

You may not use, reproduce, or distribute this content without prior written permission, except as permitted for personal, non-commercial use.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services, such as event ticketing platforms, podcast hosting services, or payment processors used for fundraising.

The Association does not control and is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
