About the event: Majid Dehbidipour is the president of Sharif Science and Technology Park. Majid has received his BSc and MSc in Aerospace Engineering from SUT. Over the past 15 years, he has been managing several departments and units to promote entrepreneurship at the university.

About two decades ago, SUT started new initiatives with the objective of promoting entrepreneurship in campus. Although SUT faculty members and alumni have been creating startup companies since many years ago, the first major initiative at the university was the creation of Sharif Entrepreneurship Center in the year 2000. During the last twenty years, many other organizations have been formed in and outside the university to support and accelerate the growth of the technology companies.

Currently there are more than 500 companies around the university campus, which has encouraged the idea of developing the Sharif Innovation Area.

In this presentation, Majid will review the various entrepreneurship-related organizations that have been created in the last twenty years and will introduce the Sharif Innovation Area.
