Invitation to Public Lecture by Dr. Firouz Naderi

Canadian Society of Iranian Engineers and Architects (MOHANDES) and Tirgan will be jointly organizing a lecture entitled:
"ARE WE ALONE?
The Search for Our Cosmic Roots and Galactic Cousins"
The lecture which will be presented by Dr. Firouz Naderi, is open to all members of public and will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the University of Toronto. Among the intriguing topics to be noted at this lecture, will be the latest cutting edge research related to the "search for Earth-like planets in other planetary system".
The invited speaker, Dr. Firouz Naderi, currently serves as the director of the Solar System Exploration Directorate at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Formerly, he acted as Associate Director for Project Formulation and Strategy at JPL. He also headed the Mars Exploration Program (2000-2005) during a period in which NASA successfully launched the
Mars Odyssey, the landing of Mars Exploration Rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, and developed the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter
. Prior to that Dr. Naderi has managed the Origins Program (1996-2000). Dr. Naderi received his doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California in 1979 before commencing his 34 year career at NASA.
