مردم ایران امروز در یکی از حساسترین گذرگاههای تاریخی خود قرار گرفتهاند. کشور درگیر جنگی شده است که مردم ایران نقشی در شکلگیری آن نداشتهاند و پی آمدهای آن میتواند رنج ها و مصیبت های تازه ای بر بحران ها و چالش هایی که جامعه ایران در سالهای گذشته با آنها روبهرو بوده، بيافزايد. هنوز زمان زيادی از سرکوب و کشتار معترضان در سال ها و ماه های اخير نگذشته و زخم آن رویدادها همچنان در حافظه جمعی جامعه باقی است. اکنون نیز در سایه جنگ و ناامنی، آینده و سرنوشت جامعه با ابهامهای فراوانی روبهرو شده و نگرانی گستردهای نسبت به پی آمدهای پیش رو شکل گرفته است.
ما به طور جدی نسبت به جان و امنیت غیرنظامیان شامل کودکان، زنان و مردان ابراز نگراني می کنيم. خطر تخریب زیرساختهای صنعتی و اقتصادی کشور، آسیب دیدن دانشگاه ها و مراکز آموزشی و نهادهایی که نقش اساسی در توسعه و آینده نسلهای بعدی دارند، از دیگر دغدغههای مهم این روزهاست. علاوه بر این، بیم آن میرود که در جریان این بحران، بناهای تاریخی و میراث فرهنگی ایرا ن و نیز زیستبومهای ارزشمند کشور دچار آسیبهای جبرانناپذیر شوند.
همچنين نسبت به وضعيت افرادی که در معرض خطر اعدام قرار دارند عميقن نگران هستيم و لغو فوری احکام اعدام صادر شده را خواهانيم.
در چنین شرایطی بیش از هر زمان دیگری نیاز به همگرایی در تکثر با تاکيد بر اشتراکات و مسئولیتپذیری جمعی احساس میشود. پذیرش دیدگاههای گوناگون همراه با نقد سازنده اختلافات میتواند به تقویت همدلی میان ایرانیان کمک کند و بستر مناسبی برای عبور جامعه از این دوران دشوار فراهم آورد.
هیئتمدیره انجمن سوتا ضمن تاکيد بر همراهی و همدلی با مردم ايران، بر پشتیبانی از خواستهای مدنی آن ها نيز تأکید میکند؛ خواستهایی که شامل مبارزه با فساد ساختاری، تضمین آزادی بیان و فراهم شدن شرایطی برای مشارکت آزادانه شهروندان در سرنوشت کشور میشوند.
ما امیدواریم این بحران هرچه زودتر با پایان جنگ و برقراری صلحی پایدار بر پايه حق مردم ايران در تعيين سرنوشت خود خاتمه یابد. صلحی که بتواند آرامش، امنيت و آزادی را برای مردم ايران به ارمغان آورد و زمینه تحقق خواستههای مدنی، رفاه و پیشرفت کشور را فراهم کند.

The people of Iran today stand at one of their most sensitive historical crossroads. The country has become embroiled in a war that the Iranian people played no part in creating, yet its consequences could add new suffering and hardships to the crises and challenges the Iranian society has faced in recent years. Not much time has passed since the suppression and killing of protesters in recent months and years, and the wounds of those events remain fresh in the collective memory of society. Now, under the shadow of war and insecurity, the future and destiny of society face immense ambiguity, and widespread concern has formed regarding the impending consequences.
We express serious concern for the lives and safety of civilians, including children, women, and men. The risk of destroying the country's industrial and economic infrastructure, and damage to universities, educational centers, and institutions that play a fundamental role in the development and future of coming generations, are among other major concerns these days. Furthermore, there is fear that during this crisis, Iran's historical monuments, cultural heritage, and precious ecosystems could suffer irreparable damage.
We are also deeply concerned about the situation of individuals at risk of execution and demand the immediate cancellation of issued death sentences.
In such circumstances, the need for "convergence in diversity"—emphasizing commonalities and collective responsibility—is felt more than ever. Accepting diverse viewpoints alongside constructive criticism of differences can help strengthen empathy among Iranians and provide a suitable foundation for society to pass through this difficult era.
The Board of Directors of the SUTA, while emphasizing solidarity and empathy with the people of Iran, also stresses its support for their civil demands; demands that include fighting structural corruption, guaranteeing freedom of expression, and providing conditions for the free participation of citizens in the country's destiny.
We hope this crisis ends as soon as possible with the termination of war and the establishment of a lasting peace based on the Iranian people's right to self-determination. A peace that can bring tranquility, security, and freedom to the people of Iran and provide the ground for the fulfillment of civil demands, welfare, and the country's progress.
